Cosmo embroidery floss is made from 100% extra-long-staple cotton a superior grade of raw fibers that makes up less than 2% of the world’s cotton supply. Extra-long-staple cotton is known for its strength and elasticity, which are both important elements of the finished product. Embroidery floss needs to resist breakage while also being soft and springy, allowing the fiber artist to render a wide range of textures.

Seasons is Cosmo’s name for variegated floss, with different colors mixed together on the same skein. There are several ways of creating variegated floss, and Cosmo offers three different Seasons ranges:

• Seasons #5000-5999: Complete color change every 8 cm
• Seasons #8000-8999: Gradual color change across the entire skein
• Seasons #9000-9999: Random, sudden color changes

Each skein of Cosmo Seasons is 8 meters (8.75 yd.) in length.
